Stage 1 of the Experimentation Network

🚀 Successful launch for the first cohort of the Futura Cinema Experimentation Network in Strasbourg! 🚀

The first cohort of the Futura Cinema Experimentation Network gathered from 2 to 4 October in Strasbourg, hosted by the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival (FEFFS): an ideal setting to launch an edition marked by creativity, innovation and encounters.

🙏 This first stage would not have been possible without the support of Europe Creative, the CNC, the City and Eurometropolis of Strasbourg, the FEFFS, all our partners and the host venues: the Digital Village, Kooma, Le Cosmos cinema, the Cinémas Star and the Aedaen Brasserie.

👉 This first stage brought together nearly 30 participants from all over Europe for three days of networking and collaborative work on innovation in cinemas.

💡 On the agenda: presentation of the projects and the experimentation venues; matchmaking between projects and host venues; co-construction of experimentation protocols setting the objectives, modalities and timetable with a view to future European deployment.

🗣️ On the last day of the stage, the focus was on the projects' action plans and experimentation protocols, providing an opportunity for the projects supported by Futura Cinema to share their progress and receive feedback in preparation for future experiments.

🍿 Over the next 15 months, the experimentation venues will test these new tools, formats and devices, from a technological, social and environmental perspective, in order to explore new ways of creating, distributing and experiencing cinema.

➡️ Next meeting: participants will meet in June 2026 in Brussels (Belgium) as part of the Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF).
