8 projects incubated for 2022 / 2023!

The 2nd edition of the incubator brought together 56 participants from 9 regions, divided into 8 teams. From audio description to the Twitch platform, the participants are inventing new ways of experiencing cinema in theatres.

These projects will be unveiled in detail at the final stage of the Challenge, at the La Rochelle Cinéma Festival in July 2023.

Are you interested in these projects? Are you a cinema or film distributor interested in trying out one of the projects?

CINEXPERIENCE: Making every screening an event

Jury Prize • Professionals' favourite • Honourable mention from the ADRC

CINEXPERIENCE won over the Futura Cinema Jury, all the professionals and the ADRC, which awarded it its Special Mention.

Immersive, turnkey events for the release of new films or the re-release of heritage films. The recipe? Storytelling, easy, guided set-up, durable, deployable set elements and support to optimise local resources and ecosystems. For exhibitors of all types of cinemas and film distributors, with controlled, shared costs and an affordable price. Orders can be placed 3 to 6 months before the screening of a film for a new box, with themed boxes available in the coming months.

The team is made up of Tristan Desplechin, Eliza Calmat and Grégoire Nedelcovici from Dream Factory, Laura Blanc from the Grand Palais in Cahors, Cerise Jouinot from Cinéma de la Cité in Angoulême and Quentin Daniel from Wombat Films, with the support of Marion Tharaud (Haut et Court Distribution).

"It's a project aimed at all audiences and all cinemas, placing the film at the heart of its approach. The film is the experience."

Share your cinema: Bringing cinema to social facilities

SPECIAL MENTION FROM THE JURY

The Jury also awarded a Special Mention to the Transmets ton ciné project.

‘A project of public interest that we want to encourage public decision-makers to take up’.

Transmets ton ciné is a training project for socio-cultural and medico-social professionals to incorporate arthouse films into their professional and collective practices.'

Supported by Jérémie Monmarché and Tarik Roukba (Studio cinemas in Tours and the Passerelle Ciné association), Valérie Brasse and Sophie Morel (Graines2Tech), Marlène Rybarz (social worker), and with the collaboration of the Luciole association.

SCREEN SPIRIT: Bringing the stream and cinema worlds together

Splitscreen is a cinema programme + a Festival event: the twice-monthly programme to talk about releases, cinemas, heritage, figures and the making of cinema, and the Festival, which is the high point of the season, in several cinemas in France and simultaneously on Twitch. Streamers will be presenting screenings and animations. Last but not least, Splitscreen is a professional forum designed to forge links between players in the cinema and streaming worlds, with the aim of creating a genuine cinema ecosystem on Twitch and in cinemas.

Project lead by Dimitri Margueres and Romain Besnard (le Club de l’Étoile in Paris), Lucie Lanseman (streamer), Olivier Forest (Festival FAME, Gaité Lyrique) and Olivier Palatre (D.P.L.G. Architect – D.E.F.A. / Scénographer).

BEYOND: Increasing the impact of committed films

Beyond offers a range of themed and cultural content based around a committed film. Beyond is an engaging new experience for cinema-goers and a source of communication content for professionals. Our aim is to extend the reach of our films and engage audiences in their cinematic experience.

With Tënk (documentary film platform), Ozzak (special cinema ticket sales), BIM (producer of social and environmental impact campaigns), Les Ecrans (network of independent cinemas) and L'agence du court métrage.

THE FLIP/FLAP EXPERIENCE: Through CINEMA, through WORDS

Simple and fun! Teams challenge each other using software inspired by the audio description process, enhanced by artificial intelligence. Players get involved in a film, explore the richness of the language, and take a different look at blindness. A tool for running workshops, for cinema owners, educational establishments and organisers of events around language, difference and cinema.

With the association La Luciole: Pilar Romero de Castilla (design, coordination), Florie Cauderlier (venue relations, communication), Dorothée Lombard (President of La Luciole, visually impaired referent).

Loops: The unique film festival!

Eco-responsible and festive events. Loops relies on joyful sobriety to create screenings that reuse films and unsold food over an artistic and collective aperitif in the cinema. So that today's alternatives become tomorrow's cinema-going habits!

Lead by Chloé Chéron (cinéma l’Entrepôt) and Alix Ménard (GECI, Première Cinémas).

La Mallette: Young ambassadors have their own app!

A tool to support existing ambassador programmes in cinemas, aimed at mediators and 15/25 year-olds. Networking for young ambassadors, a space for sharing their achievements (texts, events created, interviews, etc.), challenges for different groups to ‘challenge’ each other around cinema.

Project lead by Yoann Arzu (Agence Tadam), Léo Ortuno (Journalist), Chloé Baysse (UFO Distribution), Agnès Dalle (Visibrain), Maxime Laure (DAF Externalisé), Sophie Petter (Salto), Coline Darin (Exploitation), Ludovic Piquemal (Cocktail Culturel).

Shorties: Young people, short films and international events

Challenge 15-25 year olds to programme and host short film screenings in arthouse cinemas around major events or causes. The winning team will receive a prize in line with the year's theme! The 2024 edition will be devoted to sport and the values of Olympism.

With Amélie Chatellier, Florence Keller, Liza Narboni and Cécile Horreau from the Agence du court métrage and Christophe Brangé, from the agence Elena.
